"We don't call them practices—we call them Labs. A practice is for repeating what you know; a Lab is for discovering what you're capable of."

Drive City is a development-first club. We scout our own Training Labs to fill tournament rosters. This ensures our teams are built on chemistry and skill, not registration fees.

Training that
Actually Transfers.

Most players look great in drills but "freeze" in games. We bridge that gap. By training in Live Context, we ensure the skills they build on Monday are the same ones they use to win on Saturday.

The Goal

Turning technical "checklists" into instinctive basketball habits.

The Result

Confident players who know how to read the floor and make the right play.

Secure Your Spot

We Don’t Start With Teams. We Start With Development.

Step 01

The Lab

Everything begins with mastery. Players build fundamentals and high-IQ decision-making through structured, high-rep training.

Step 02

The Growth

We track progress over time. Effort and consistency naturally separate readiness, allowing players to develop at their own pace.

Step 03

The Selection

Players ready for the next level are invited to represent Drive City in tournaments—an experience provided at NO EXTRA COST.

Most clubs sell you a jersey and a bench spot. We sell improvement. AAU tournament play isn’t a product you buy—

It’s a level you earn.

Training Doesn't
Stop at the Gym.

We believe "practice makes permanent." To bridge the gap between sessions, every player gets access to our proprietary dribbling app designed to incentivize home training.

FAQs

Our Modern Training Philosophy
We avoid the inertia of old‑school AAU. Instead of standing in lines, players are constantly engaged in small‑sided games (3v3/2v2) that create more touches, more decisions, and more real development. This is the same methodology used by European pro academies to build higher‑IQ players.
What Exactly Is a “Training Lab”?
A Training Lab is a structured, high‑intensity session built around real basketball habits — footwork, finishing, decision‑making, ball‑handling, and small‑sided game play. Every Lab follows a clear progression so players get more reps, more touches, and more learning in less time.
Who Can Join Drive City?
Boys and girls in Grades 3–6. All skill levels are welcome — beginners to advanced. No tryouts required to join the training program.
Is This Only for “Elite” Players?
Not at all. Labs are engineered to challenge advanced players while giving beginners the high‑rep foundation they need. We meet every player where they are and push them to their next level — whether they’re brand new or already one of the strongest players in their grade.
How Do AAU Tournament Teams Work?
Drive City is a development‑first club. We scout our own Training Labs to fill tournament rosters — building teams on chemistry and skill, not registration fees.

We select 8 players per grade before each tournament based on effort, attendance, coachability, and positional fit. There is no additional cost for players who earn a spot.

Example Scenario:

Suppose we have 14 5th-grade girls training in the Club. Before a scheduled tournament, our coaches will select 8 players to form the roster for that event. Eight is the perfect number for our system—it ensures every kid gets meaningful minutes and stays engaged. The other 6 players continue to train and compete for a spot in the next event. In this model, the parents of those 8 players pay $0 in additional tournament fees.

Are There Extra Fees for Tournaments?
No. Your membership covers all Training Labs and access to the skills app. If your player earns a spot on a tournament roster, Drive City covers 100% of the tournament entry fees. We remove the financial barrier so the most prepared players can compete.
If My Player Isn’t Selected, What Happens?
They keep training. We choose a new roster before every tournament, so players always have another opportunity as they grow and improve.
What Is the Dribbling App?
Our custom app gives players short, gamified at‑home drills. They earn practice points, track streaks, earn real-life rewards and climb the leaderboard — keeping them engaged between Labs.
Schedule & Location Info
Labs are held Mondays and Fridays at the Stratford Street Church Gym in West Roxbury from 6-7 pm. The spring season runs through June 29th. Tournament schedules for players selected to compete are typically finalized two weeks before each event.
What Should Players Bring?
A water bottle, basketball shoes, and a positive attitude. We provide basketballs and all training equipment.
What Is the Refund Policy?
If your player cannot continue due to injury or unforeseen circumstances, contact us and we’ll work with you. We aim to be fair and parent‑friendly.
Do You Offer Make‑Up Sessions?
Yes — players can attend any available Lab during the season if they miss a session. Consistency matters, and we want them training.
